Basic details

Name: Saint Antolin of Sotiello's Church (Iglesia de Sotiel.lo)
Description: This Romanesque church is part of Saint Antolin's monastery, founded in the first half of the 11th century.
It consists of an only nave ended in a square chapel. It stands out the Romanesque facade with two archivolts. The first one hasn't got any ornamentation and the second one has got a double reed, decorated with half-spheres and a composition in zigzag. The capitals are predominantly decorated with vegetable motifs.
In the southwest of the church, in its lateral portico, it preserves the stone frames of the door called “Puerta del Perdón” ('Door of the Forgiveness'), which offered priviledges of forgiveness to those who crossed it.
