Autumn is that interval between two extreme seasons (summer and winter) that allows you to enjoy the intensity of the rural, adventure, cultural and gastronomic tourism: a complete range of option for all ages and preferences.

 But there is an autumn activity in which all the family or groups of different characteristics can enjoy: the different routes we can do in the woods. They can be small or big, depending on the fitness of the person. This activity allows us to enjoy some spaces, protagonists of the autumn, that are covered with a leaves covering, a present of the trees with ocher and red-colored and of very interesting shapes and contrasts. which gives it lighting and shadows effects.



Woods such as the Valgrande beech wood in Payares (Lena), a place where Alfonso the tenth, also known as Alfonso 'the Wise', enjoyed his shoots. For that reason, he called it “Real Monte de los osos” (Rotal Mount of the bears), an intinerary through the Gumial Wood, in Aller, or a walk to gather chesnuts in any of the abundant chestnut groves we can find in the region. Other places where you can enjoy this activity are Cenera and Turón Valleys in Mieres, La Rozona, in the surroundings of La Piñera, a village in Morcín, the route between Palombar and la Mortera, in Ribera de Arriba Council, or in the area of La Ablanosa, in the surrondings of La Vara in Riosa.

Cheered up after the walk and taking in the retina the colour and life of the autumn, we discover the heat and protection that the rural accomodations offer us. This makes us bring into our mind happy and warm moments.

The Central Mountain, in autumn, provides us with chance of enjoying in accomodations with a warm environment, maybe by the warmth of the fire of a chimney, and, why not, having a chocolate with churros (fritters), a cup of good coffee or tea... 

This scenery helps us to forget the daily problems and seems to transport us to warm and happy moments, giving us the necessary peace dose for recharging our batteries and go back to daily life.
